CORONAVIRUS PREPAREDNESS PLANNING MESSAGE
As you watch the news for continuing developments on the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Lafayette would like to reassure you that both of the Firm’s offices remain open and continue to provide continuity of service for our customers. In addition, Lafayette has in place, and has tested, Business Continuity and Pandemic Preparedness plans in order to continue to meet our obligations to our customers during disruptions that the Coronavirus or other significant business disruption may present.
Please refer to Lafayette’s website at http://www.lafayetteinvestments.com/ for updated communications, announcements and disclosures. As the Firm monitors the spread of Coronavirus and the potential impacts that it may have on our operations, we may need to adjust procedures in order to provide customers with the best and most reliable access to our products and services.
Lafayette has in place multiple methods to communicate with our customers, regulators, service providers and with our Lafayette colleagues. The Firm has provided the capability for Lafayette employees to work from alternate physical locations. In addition, our clearing firm, First Clearing, expects to provide mission critical systems for processing securities transactions, and to give customers access to their funds and securities in a variety of business continuity scenarios.
In case of a declared pandemic that may involve quarantines, Lafayette will abide by government restrictions on travel and limitations on the ability of people to congregate in groups. Such restrictions may be communicated to us with limited notice, and may require swift changes to our operations.
From an abundance of caution, Lafayette requests at this time that brokerage customers direct checks for deposit to their accounts directly to our clearing firm, First Clearing. Checks should be mailed (by overnight delivery service if possible) to this address:
Attn: Cash Management
4340 Innslake Drive
Glen Allen, VA 23060
IMPORTANT: Only use this address if your account is at First Clearing. Please ask your advisor for mailing instructions for managed accounts custodied at other firms.
Please make checks payable to the exact registration on the account, or to First Clearing – see instructions above if your account is not custodied at First Clearing. In all cases, please write your account number on the face of the check. Kindly let your financial professional know if you have mailed a check for deposit to your account. This will enable us to watch for the deposit and advise you once the check has been received. We can also help you set up convenient and secure electronic funds transfers as an alternative to checks.
While our Firm and the industry now receive very few physical securities for deposit, please contact your financial professional before mailing any physical securities, such as stock certificates. We will provide you with detailed mailing and other instructions to facilitate the electronic deposit of properly verified certificates to your account.
Lafayette is mindful that the market effects of the response to the spread of Coronavirus, and unexpected changes to all of our personal routines, contribute to stresses that all of us feel. Please do not hesitate to contact Lafayette if you have questions about your account, or our approach to the markets in the days and weeks to come. Please let us know how you are doing. We are here to help. Be well.
